1. Overview
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the website hallway.press and all related services, publications, and content provided by Hallway Press, a Canadian nonprofit corporation (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using our website or subscribing to Lounge magazine, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
2. Our Services
Hallway Press publishes Lounge, a quarterly magazine for Canadian physicians. We offer free digital access and paid print subscriptions. We also provide editorial newsletters and related content through our website.
3. Subscriptions and Payments
Print subscriptions are available for $58 per year (CAD). Payment is processed securely through Stripe. By purchasing a subscription, you authorize us to charge the payment method you provide. Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable Canadian consumer protection law.
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with reasonable notice. Any price changes will apply to the next subscription period following the change and will not affect your current paid subscription term.
Digital access to Lounge is provided free of charge. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue free digital access at any time.
4. User Accounts and Communications
When you sign up for updates or subscribe, you may provide us with your name, email address, and other contact information. You agree to provide accurate and current information. You may unsubscribe from editorial communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails.
5. Intellectual Property
All content published by Hallway Press, including but not limited to articles, essays, graphics, logos, and website design, is owned by Hallway Press or its contributors and is protected by Canadian and international copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission.
You may share links to our content and brief excerpts for non-commercial purposes with appropriate attribution to Hallway Press and the original author.
6. Contributor Content
Articles published in Lounge are written by contributing authors. The views and opinions expressed in contributed articles are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the official position of Hallway Press. While we exercise editorial oversight, Hallway Press does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or applicability of contributed content.
7. Medical Disclaimer
The content published by Hallway Press is for informational and educational purposes only. It does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Nothing in Lounge or on hallway.press should be construed as a substitute for professional medical judgment. Healthcare professionals should exercise their own clinical judgment in applying any information from our publications. 8. Acceptable Use

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or our services shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

Our website and services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to our services at any time for any reason, including violation of these Terms. You may cancel your subscription at any time by contacting us at editor@hallway.press. Upon cancellation, you will continue to receive any remaining issues in your current paid subscription period.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nova Scotia.
13. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
